2020 got underway for Xacus with a stand at the now unmissable Pitti Immagine Uomo, the event that the whole world looks when it comes to men’s fashions, and one that saw all of the major international brands and designers in the stunning setting of Fortezza Da Basso, Florence to showcase their new collections and ideas for the coming Fall/Winter season.
From January 7 -10, Xacus was presenting its new ideas for the coming winter season at stand D5/7 in the attic of the central hall. The inspiration was a new communication concept, #THE SHIRT LEGACY, and a whole range of new ideas, first and foremost, The Journey Collection, a new range focusing on product innovation, the circular economy and sustainability for the environment.
#THE SHIRT LEGACY, which previewed at the stand with a bold-impact video, is inspired by the 1949 works of Japanese photographer Shoji Uenda, taken in the Tottori desert in southwest Japan. It illustrates the idea of a no-season shirt that can transcend gender, time and distance. A timeless shirt with a continued evolution, like the technology used for our Active, Travel and Merino shirts, in the new patterns from the Heritage collection, and in the new linen flannel, wool mix, cotton and silk fabrics.
Accompanied by the hashtag “We Never Stop”, the new The Journey Collection occupied a central position on the stand to showcase all of the practical elegance of high-tech shirts that, once put on, will stay crisp, tidy and looking newly ironed. The Active-shirt has become even more sustainable, thanks to the use of polyamide yarn recycled from old fishing nets and elastane. This highly breathable, double-stretch, and fast-drying shirt is now in a new range of textured fabrics, enhanced with prints and melange effects. The Travel-shirt, an evolution of the no-iron shirt made in top-quality, 100% cotton fabric, has now extended its range to include new organic, stainproof cottons and new patternsprinted on cotton.
The Merino-shirt, created with the prestigious collaboration of Italian wool mill Reda, is an eco-sustainable, wrinkle-free, breathable, odour-proof and thermoregulating shirt, made from a fabric in 100% merino wool from New Zealand. The next Merino-shirt collection will be adding new colours, new flannels with check patterns and melangeeffects, and new fabrics designed by Thomas Mason, always synonymous with revolutionary style and timeless elegance.
There are lots of new ideas for the Urban Heritage line, a limited edition inspired by the tradition and quality of vintage style, which it has created in oversized fits with a nod to contemporary, street scene fashions. A series of new ideas comes from our research into weaves and patterns, such as our elegant Liberty of London prints in 20 new variations, or our new patchwork checks. There is now a large choice of new fabrics, from flannel to moleskin, wool and silk blends, and garment-dyed gabardine, natural-origin Tencel fibres and velvets, printed and garment dyed.
It’s been an important preview offering first-hand experience of Xacus’ quality, elegance, style and sustainable approach, all of which we put in place to guarantee a secure, stable future for the generations to come.
