Today is the last day of Pitti Uomo, the international event held every January to present the latest in men’s fashion for the coming winter season. This international stage where creativity is all around, is an event that Xacus never misses.
The days spent at stand E7/5 in the central pavilion were both intense and satisfying, where the Xacus winter shirts, from the new collection, were arranged on display according to mood, to highlight their primary use. Each of the styles was enriched by the videos from the storytelling “Wear your story, we are your story” project, that show off the best context in which to wear the Xacus shirt, highlighting their production details. The stories in the videos are matched to a series of sophisticated shirts on display for the first time: the must haves for next winter.
For the casual/sporting mood, the trend of check winter shirts continues, proposed in different materials and weights, from flannel to linen produced at the Albini cotton mill, to warm cotton checks. The garment dyed, printed corduroy in 1000 and 500 lines which holds its place firmly amidst next season's must haves, is undoubtedly of considerable impact. The denim shirt is always a key player interpreted in new blends and materials, like the melange and jacquard yarns.
The fashion look, on the other hand, comes mainly in grey melange in the slim models, produced with cotton jersey, while the classic/casual includes Oxford shirts with incredibly light fabrics and classic designs in stripes and checks, reinterpreted on melange and jaspe yarns.
In addition, there is no lack of classic men's shirts, all proposed in the wrinkle free version that are easy to iron and remain wrinkle free throughout the day.
Lastly, the evening & tuxedo mood includes special designs for ceremonial events and to be worn under a dinner jacket.
The Xacus Heritage capsule is also a new entry for winter 2018 with its ten items, each with authentic details that reveal a sporty sophistication. The collection brings to mind the designs and stile of American outdoor oversized shirts from the 40s and 50s, redefined with a contemporary twist. It is an intense, decisive and adaptable item as can be seen in the box pleat down the back with hanger or the cut yoke and hem gusset applied on the side.
The collars are almost all button-down with only the odd exception of a semi-French collar and an unexpected Mandarin collar. The pockets, on the other hand, are double or single with or without flap.
The selected fabrics include various weights of Oxford, denim, gabardine garment dyed and corduroys. In addition to these, are the classic winter flannel shirts.
The colour palettes are created in blends of special material produced exclusively by the Albini cotton mill for Xacus. This means the weight found in traditional flannels is more flowing, ideal for the new fit presented by the Xacus Heritage capsule.
There are numerous new entries presented at Pitti Uomo 93: all of them sophisticated with attention paid to detail, making them key players in the FW 2018 season.
