The Art Of Becoming” to be presented to the public at Fuorisalone del Mobile 2023

We have reached the second chapter of "The Art Of Becoming" the project created by Xacus that establishes a connection between the contemporary artists and the brand's values and its audience, opening unconventional ways of dialogue between two seemingly distant universes.
The project, which highlights the evolutionary process of an art piece up to its completion and its final shape has as its protagonist, in this second edition, the internationally renowned designer Matteo Cibic, who through his Mystery/Mastery offers his personal interpretation of the moment of creation of a Xacus shirt, drawing inspiration from the second pillar of the brand's manifesto: "We cherish precious customs.” An interpretation in a sculptural key that shows savoir faire safeguarded and handed down through generations, never openly revealed and which finds its expression in the details and manufacturing of each Xacus shirt.
And it is in this field that Matteo Cibic's art plays its main role: the ability to convey a concept, a value and aesthetics that find their roots deep within, through an amorphous form full of meaning.
A container that becomes the content of Xacus' skills and values, represented in overlapping layers of tissue that evoke paper patterns, fabrics and tailoring scraps, covered in gold because there is nothing more precious than knowledge passed down from generation to generation. Inside, covered in matte black patent leather, a white shirt, the beating heart of the artwork and a status symbol of Made In Italy’s male elegance. “A figure with defined and accurate shapes that experiences the continuous change of fashion," explains the artist. "A reflection on the Xacus shirt and the concept of elegance, shaped over time and in continuous evolution.”

The artwork will be shown to the public with a vernissage preview on March 22 at the Xacus Brera Store, Via Solferino 8, where it will be on display throughout the month during the Fuorisalone del Mobile in Milan.

"Xacus’ manufacturing tradition is nourished by research, care and meticulousness," says Paolo Xoccato, CEO of Xacus. "It is a precious heritage. Tradition that involves people, shapes and materials, and a sign of passion for all that is beautiful and well made. To interpret this expertise we involved Matteo Cibic, a Vicenza native like us and an artist with an eclectic personality who can translate worlds and values into iconic and unique artworks.”
