The front placket (the part next to the fastening) and the arm holes are also completely coated in adhesives and therefore, made rigid and unnatural, to prevent creasing in this area.
There is another method that starts with the cotton fibre, the raw material. This is a gentler, more natural treatment and it is the one that Xacus has chosen for its non-iron shirt, Wrinkle Free. The secret is found in the cotton weave: an invisible network is inserted between the woven threads and it keeps the fibres stretched and extended, thanks to the heat of the wearer’s body. No part of the shirt has been bonded; only the most refined materials are used, such as Supima cotton, which undergoes 36 meticulous processes and exclusive finishes. This means that the garment is always soft and feels good on the skin. The special construction developed by Xacus includes a garment with fewer seams in order to avoid any tensions on fabric that tends always to return to an extended position without folds or creases. The garment is inspired by high-end tailored wear and is still complete with exclusive single-needle seams along the sides, as well as the removable collar stiffeners that are usually not found on cheaply made, non-iron garments. The fabrics preserve their bright, natural colours and polish, but also the versatility and practical wear required by the modern man.
