Xacus reaches the third chapter of The Art Of Becoming, signed by Anaïs Herd-Smith

After Simone Brillarelli  and Matteo Cibic's success, The Art of Becoming reaches its third edition, adding a new, novel point of view to the relationship between the fashion and haute couture world and art. By exploiting the connecting elements established between the endless experimentations within the creative process, once again art becomes the tool to interpret the values of a company such as Xacus, which combines continuous research, creative evolution and new sustainability pathways.

The partnership with Fedrigoni

Making every single gesture and the carefully selected materials worth, also means finding a way to recover processing scraps, by giving them a second life. The partnership between Xacus and Fedrigoni - a leading company that produces special paper, which is also used for art projects - lies in this shared sense of purpose, in a transformation process of fabric scraps resulting from Xacus fine quality shirts, into materials that become works of art. Art meant as paper sculpture, crafted by the hands of French artist Anaïs Herd-Smith.

Renaissance by Anaïs Herd-Smith

Anaïs Herd-Smith's works is also based on a game of correspondences, inspired by nature's constantly evolving beauty to conceive Renaissance.
It shows how sustainable circularity can be the thing that inspires something to be born, grow and multiply.
"A paper sculpture created scale after scale, and a fine quality shirt both require time. In the same way, nature itself needs time to regenerate or grow”, this is how the artist defines her work, made for the third chapter of The Art of Becoming, which will be presented to insiders on 14 November, in the Via Solferino boutique, in Milan.

Xacus toward an increasingly sustainable direction

The topic of sustainability - a word used more and more loosely by the majority of companies throughout the world - is truly important to Paolo XoccatoXacus'  President - who is committed to establishing successful partnerships with yarn and many other manufacturing companies, aimed at reducing scraps and creating quality products that respect the environment. One fine example of this is the active shirt made with Econyl, obtained from fishing nets - polluting and dangerous to marine animals - deposited on the sea floor. The partnership with Fedrigoni is based on a transformation perspective, just like the metamorphosis we see in nature. Beyond The Art of Becoming project, Fedrigoni will also produce a special paper for Xacus  in 2024, which will contain scraps from the Spring-Summer 2024 production. Fabric scraps that build up during shirt production, and which can be as much as 30% of the material used. A unique circularity project in the fashion industry.
