Spring/summer 2017: linen shirts, and stripes are back

It’s almost time to say goodbye to winter, and Xacus is opening up to the coming season with its new spring/summer men’s collection, now available on the website.

The keyword is lightness, expressed in hundreds of different ways.
In the Beluga Washed collection, the printed shirts that were at the forefront in past seasons give way to the return of the stripe, presenting itself in a new guise with different manufacturing techniques. Striped shirts on a very light twill mélange base, as well as indigo stripes worked in jacquard or jersey shirts with barré stripes (horizontal rather than vertical).
The linen shirt still has a starring role for summer, in all its compositions and processes. Printed linen shirts and garment-dyed shirts in military colours are the most sought-after trends in the sport section of the collection, as is the white linen shirt – an indispensable go-anywhere item for more elegant summer evenings. There’s also a very strong presence of mandarin collar or guru collar shirts, which are right on-trend this year, too.
Printed patterned shirts are made more delicate in shades of dark and pale blue, in very high quality materials such as cotton muslins from the Albini weaving factory and Liberty of London fine printed cottons, clearly referenced in the White Label section.
The most classic garments are still the iconic pale blues and whites in all their various processings, with the insertion of pastel pink touches.

So this promises to be a summer in which elegance meets striped and printed patterns, where refinement and lightness manage to combine in a harmonious, cleverly-balanced synthesis.
